Many families are gearing up for back to school. Some have already returned. While some schools are planning for a traditional start, most are beginning the year with virtual learning. Either way, students need an organized workspace to build a successful foundation.
After thoughtful consideration, my first grader’s school decided to begin the year with virtual learning. The least I can do is create an organized workspace and stock it with power essentials. She will be ready for a full day of robust virtual learning.
Workspace Essentials

Ok, I was not going to add pencils to the list since they are a no brainer. But, Ticonderoga pencils are the absolute best from the tip to the eraser.
Start time management early. This analog clock is anti-ticking and battery operated. Younger children will have the added bonus of learning to tell time.
Stylish and eco-friendly, this book stand will help keep the workspace organized. In addition to holding books and papers, it’s a great spot to keep tablets steady during Zoom calls.
In addition to the 20/20/20 rule – look 20 feet away for 20 seconds after 20 minutes in front of the screen – blue light glasses provide relief from digital eye strain- supporting virtual learning.

After accumulating lots of supplies, we purchased this gem on wheels in dark grey. I am still amazed by how much it holds. It is an affordable and lovely space saver.
This removable magnetic whiteboard is a temporary space that can be used to post daily affirmations, an ever-changing schedule, support children’s learning, or have them demonstrate what they’ve learned.
